Come with us to the island of Kiltie, an island that lies just beyond the horizon, an island that only clever people can see... An island where the Emperor (or Laird as he’s called in these parts) owns everything that moves and everything that doesn’t.

The vain and tyrannical Laird of Kiltie has one true love, his clothes, or more precisely, his kilts. In the lead up the most important day in the Kiltie calendar, his birthday, the Laird wants for one thing, a new kilt ‘the likes of which has never been seen’.

Enter Mr. Harris and Mr. Tweed, two dodgy weavers who give this gullible customer exactly what he asks for.

We saw 'The Emperor's New Kilt' and were completely bowled over again. It is a superbly written, brilliantly paced, fantastically funny and brilliantly acted play - we really loved it.

 

Some groups make a real hash of kid's theatre but your performances are always perfectly pitched - not patronising, not so wacky that the kids think they're being dropped off in some bizarre institution, not trying so hard to be clever that it bores us all to tears - just mind-blowingly high quality script, music and acting. I really think it's some of the best theatre around, for adults or children.

 

You have inspired the kids to form their own theatre group and they subject us to hours of dramatic 'entertainment' but they aspire to good Wee Stories elements - to tell a good story and to be funny.
