Based on the beautifully poignant short story by Oscar Wilde, Spring and the Selfish Giant is set in the Scottish highlands and tells the tale of a giant who builds an enormous wall around his garden to keep everyone out. Soon Snow, Hail, Frost, and the North Wind take up permanent residence in his garden.
On the other side of the wall spring returns to Scotland but in the giant’s garden it now remains winter all year round…
Will the giant realize that it is he who has built this cold, bleak lonely world around himself?
'We were gently and thoroughly manipulated; we hooted with laughter; we were moved. That is as much as most adult theatre can do.' The Scotsman
'...It is sensitively written, well acted and funny. When winter comes Queen Snow gives a gracious but glacial royal wave. We were definitely amused.' The Herald
